How to create a sensual encounter between the analog-physical and the digital-virtual reality? McLuhan‘s view of media as extensions of the senses is illustrated using image transformations and juxtaposed with „sensory filters“. Something two-dimensional is transformed into something three-dimensional. It is no longer only visually tangible, but theoretically also becomes tangible as a physical object with the hands. Seeing is expanded to include haptic feeling. The organic formations resemble something living, like cells under the microscope that have been genetically altered - digital mutations. Living organisms are imitated, thus the artificially lifeless recedes. The slashed body of a fish mutates into an abstract composition. The obvious connection can only be traced in the colouring and is anchored in the 3D object as a digital data track.
